  i haven't seen anything here about the annual meeting just a month away now.

  anyone have any real info on it?.

  Perhaps 2 or 3 new "slaves" will receive their calling to ascend upstairs - both at Brooklyn and to heaven!! :)

  My favourite would be Mr. Malenfant. He seems to be prominently climbing the pyramid, and not hiding his light under a bushel!

  an old friend of mine committed suicide this week.

  he was a great guy; pleasant to be around, a hard worker, kind.

  everybody at work liked him.. then something changed.

  I truly feel for your loss.
  

  Your friendship and affection for your lost friend are self-evident, but tragically, such sincere displays may never be enough to rescue loved ones out of whatever darkness they have been pulled into. You honestly did what you could, but he couldn't see any light in his life.

  May such tragic souls encourage us all to view our friends and family as beautiful and precious gifts - and to tell them that they are such.

  The elusive song 151 makes an appearance.

  the missing song 151 now titled "the revealing of god's sons" shows up with the september edition of tv.jw.

  no words or score on the jw page yet.

  can't say that it sounds any different than any of the other songs they produce now.

  "Well back in June a number of new kingdom songs were released electronically, but one was missing - No. 151 - and you noticed that, didn't you? I know you did, because nothing escapes the eagle-eyes of you brothers and sisters. Well here it is, No. 151; it's entitled "The Revealing of God's Sons," and it reminds us that the time is getting near when the anointed will hear the final call. Let's listen!"

  I cannot imagine what thoughts flood through long-time Witnesses' minds as they sit in little groups watching these self-publicising charlatans spout out monthly propaganda to their followers.

  well that`s what was impressed on me to differentiate between the true religion and false religion , when i was converted in 1960 , do they still claim that ?

  believing that they still do , i will say this.. what about ,:the governing body who definitely are set apart from the rank and file for their attitude towards the r&f , but also from the attitude of the r&f towards the governing body members.many do seem to idolise gb members by their actions , and the gb members dont seem to discourage that.. and not only for their attitude , how about their life-style , being housed in bethel with all the mod -cons of modern civilization as opposed to a r&f member living in a third world country .does the wt society do anything to make their lifestyle improve ?

  meeting with elders about WT involvement in UN

  i still go to the meetings because of my in wife and it came about that the elders knew of my pissed off attitude about the society getting involved in the un.

  so the elders said they could help me get over that and wanted to meet with me.

  now just to let you know, i have only told my wife and her mom so far about it, that's it.

  I think we are being shunned

  i have not read all the discussions about the recent regional convention where the org is now ramping up the diabolical act of shunning.

  i am not sure as to which ‘category’ of persons it now applies.. my wife and i have faded over the past couple of years.

  our book-study conductor used to drop by to give us the magazines.

  The org is playing its "auto-suggestion" games again - this time with "conscientious shunning."

  Nothing attributable - only tenuously implied.
  

  They've planted seeds with their convention video - one which specifically targeted inactive J.W.'s who are found to be seriously sinning. However, they've opened the floodgates for the average J.W. to apply the reasoning of "by extension" to all inactive J.W.'s, and when the uber-J.W.'s at the K.H. begin "avoiding" inactive ones, others will follow their lead.

  60th Anniversary today - I was baptized 9-01-56

  60th anniversary – i was baptized 9-1-56 .

  my parents weren’t witnesses at the time, but my witness uncle studied with my brother and i. i think the only reason my parents let him was because my brother was having mental issues and were hoping it would help him.

  my father surprised me a few years later, started studying and was baptized in 1961, later appointed an elder.

  CLAM Video: Aug 22-28 2016 – “Jehovah Will Care for Our Needs”

  this video showed a married brother with three children living in a nice domicile and working full time.

  his employer demands that he change his working pattern such that it conflicts with his being able to attend wt meetings at the weekend.

  the brother decides not to yield to his employer’s demand and is thus dismissed.. the brother seeks for work very actively over a significant period but without any alternative being found.

  I'll bet this scripture isn't mentioned in the org's video-nasty;

  (1 Timothy 5:8) "Certainly if anyone does not provide for those who are his own, and especially for those who are members of his household, he has disowned the faith and is worse than a person without faith."
